A recent study by a leading researcher tallies one more strike against those diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD): an increased risk of divorce.
Harvard Medical School professor of Psychiatry Dr. Joseph Biederman and a team of researchers found that those with ADHD are roughly twice as likely to get a divorce. The study, which looked at 1001 subjects diagnosed with the disorder, also found negative social factors associated with depression, career problems, graduation rates and crime involvement.
The report appeared in the April 2006 issue of Journal of Clinical Psychology.
